The Sun-Sentinel—Student's Rights in School
A Broward County (Fla.) public school student is suing the school district over its materials distribution policy. Christine Curran claims that she was prevented from passing out flyers promoting a church youth group conference in the hallway of Driftwood Middle School. School board policy requires students to obtain permission from a school administrator before passing out materials, including petitions, surveys, or religious, political, or commercial material, on school grounds.
